not becouse of islamic laws no

when we arabs ruled the world during ummyads and abbassids .christians jews etc had thier religious freedom .and during our islamic golden age (abbassids ) all ethnics races religions joined us

in spain .they were free but they paid jizyia (tax) to remain christian or jews ?why? coz they did not join the army and coz muslims pay zakat (charity )every year ..non muslims did not pay so

for the two reasons they pay jizya (tax)

about saudi .coz its holy place for the muslims just like the vatican for christians .

it must be islamic and pure islamic .

but there are non muslims who live here .they are fine and they live in peace . more than 100 000 europeans are working in saudi they are fine .but no religious partice in public .accept islamic

so in all islamic history they were free every were accept in arabia only coz of the two holy mosques

just like the vatican in italy in christian world (no mosques there )

Saudi Arabia does not allow it IN PUBLIC, but no one forbids them from worshiping their own way in private so long they do not go out and proselytize , and because there aren't any non-Muslim Saudis . All of the people who are not Muslims are basically foreigners who do not intend to stay long. Why should the Saudi govt be concerned with people who are not citizens of the country , they have their own country embassies to take care of their "expatriate" needs.

As I said in my other answer they do not allow public proselytization (religious propaganda) of people from their current faith , which also applies with in Muslim sects public proselytization from one sect to another is not allowed. That is not an issue of religious freedom , rather an issue of the government being a monarchy does not want any destabilizing or religious polarization so it can better control the country (don't blame Islam for that). Plus they never said they were a democracy to begin with.

And what makes you think you can say "they are behind 500 hundreds" , on the calendar. These are NOT THE SAME calendar , the Roman Gregorian & Islamic Hijri calenders commemorate 2 different events , and one is solar the other is lunar, they are not a ruler or a measure stick for people's progress or way of thinking. Also the difference is less than 400 years because the Christian calendar was created 2 centuries after B.C. (counted from B.C). It is not a measure because 1000 years ago most of Europe was in the dark ages while it was a scientific and knowledge boom in the Arabian region. All these sciences that Arabs & Muslims have founded are actually the foundation of every branch of science in the west today. Where do you think the numerals , the clock, the compass , civil law, the world globe, and countless other things originate from ..

Also in is interesting that you say "our" when you type for Philippines which did not have any sort of comprable calender to the Islamic calendar back than. Your country have been visited by Muslims long before the European imperialist states tried to take over your country , interestingly using knnowledge and maps charted by Arabs. How do you think the people in south of Philippines became Muslims?. It is a matter of science that the lunar calendar used by Muslims is more accurate than the solar (because the moon is the closest celestial body to earth), and there are no leap years to make up for the 1/4 day in Gregorian calendar. Know that Arabs had a the same calendar prior to Islam and it has been used for thousands of years , only the Hijri year NUMBER counts the years from the Hijra (migration) date of Prophet Muhammed.(Before that Arabs referred to lunar year by name or major event , same as Chinese convention for lunar year naming) The months name and the lunar cycle is as old as history itself , nobody even knows how old. Arabs in north Arabia also used another solar calendar which pre-dates the Gregorian (still in use in Levant countries) , it was used by the Romans until they started the count from B.C. (After the Roman emperor converted to Christianity). But for the Arabic solar calendar it probably pre-dates the Roman one by 3000 years since the Babylonian era.

Common sense: Most people follow the religion of their culture. All Saudi's are Muslim so it makes sense that they would want an Islamic government. There is freedom for foreigners to practise their religion in their homes. Why do you want Muslims to convert to Christianity so much? Why only bring up Christianity? What about the other religions. It sounds like you and other Christians have an agenda when all you mention is the Christian religion and not any other religion.

What makes you so sure that what had been done 500 hundred years ago is wrong and what is being done now is right? Anyways, let me explain to you one thing real quick, Mostly Muslims immigrant for better living, they suffer in their countries either form wars which caused by western world, or suffer from finding a better opportunities. They just want to raise their kids with good education and better stander of living. Don’t think they left their nations and families happily and all they want from life is freedom of speech. They just want to live mate!! Relay Muslims embrace Christianity, and when they do, freedom of speech isn’t the reason. I think it’s just because they never have strong faith.

Thumbs up for above answer.

the following may be of surprise to you. there are 300k jews in madina. very close to the holy city of makkah. though there are no synagogues. it is the only arab country in GCC where religions other than muslims are the citizens of the country. and i was told they are being treated just like muslims. no discrimination. secondly it is the only GCC country to give citizen ship to its long term residents. with ofcourse lot of tough conditions. but rel

SIMPLY , it's the source of islam , and it's all the Muslims around the world direction when they pray , so we can't mix any another religion with ours , you can notice that we are the only arabic city who have this law , when u go to Emarites or Quatar or Bahrain or wherever you can see a few churches , but in saudi ! it's because our city is the source of islam when we mix another religions with the Islam religion it changes alot alot alot of the basic ideas for each religion so the Christian could fit in Islam and the Bodhian could fit in Christian and the muslim could have another idea about his own religion , in saudi we REALLY care about the basic Islam idea for each person ! even the new born.

Wise guy, your argument is always brought up against Islam and I think it's also a pretty good one. If Saudi Arabia is adhering strictly to the sharia law, then i don't see how Islam can get much better then how it currently is in Saudi Arabia. Personally, i would not care what the Saudis say about Islam as their religion is an absolute joke. I say this because an idiot like myself is capable of formulating an argument that reputes Islam. Erm no, the moon was never split in two... Islam reputed. Islam did experience a very cultural and beautiful time, this time was know as the golden age of Islam, it lasted though for only around 300 years. However during this time a new form of Islam emerged named Mu’tazila. This was a new interpretation of Islam that promoted a more liberal and free thinking society. With this new ideology Jews, Christians, and many other races/religions were welcomed in Baghdad, where they cooperatively translated many Greek, Persian and Latin texts into Arabic. They also advanced science and social reform. However the golden age died with the return of 'Mohammed's islam' and since this time the middle east has been the dreg of humanity.

because they live under islamic law. as long as Saudis are fine with this it will stay the same.

no matter how far we think they are behind....its their country and no one has a right to tell them how to live. its their belifes and morals...
