I think neither of those. However, I do not see a problem with flogging...I know some like spanking better. But hey, you can not have everything;-)))

civic cat is not very civic as I can see.

you can wish a merry christmas to a mullah in saudi arabia if you find one.

There are no mullahs in saudi arabia, as previously said you will have to go to iran to find one.

whereas wishing a merry christmas to a muslim scholar is the same as wishing a happy hanukkah to a priest or a blessed month of ramadan to a rabbi.

You will be seen as an imbecile who can't differentiate between religions.

If you do it in the scope of pure provocation, then you must take full charge of what comes to you in reaction, whether a beating (not by law) by a person infuriated with your behaviour, or some rude words towards you.

i presume you mean religious sheikhs? Well in most cases they are extremely well-read and highly steeped in islamic theology and philosophy - please dont think all sheikhs are rabble-rousers who spit at all things western. They are just more concerned about their own religion and country more than anything western - and after all why should they be concerned with the west?

My guess is they will simply ignore you or wish you back. Bcos I know several sheikhs who have a good sense of humour, believe it or not.

The fringe element who are radicalised will most probably wonder what you are playing at.

Either ways it will be a huge anti-climax I suspect.

Ah yes waleed, so much "respect"! I am "overwhelmed". You are just the person to petition the Saudi Government to permit a christian church in the country and allow christians to worship and preach freely. Just as muslims feel they have the right to do in the west.

first of all, is this question real or is just a jock ??!!

if you are asking for real then you will probably get "nasiha" which is mainly some boring speak that you have to listen for it then you say "yes yes" and that is it...

and I find it offensive that you ask this question, we respect other believes and we respect greatly Christianity and Joe, although we think they are not as pure as they were started.

anyway it is not offensive all if you say Merry Christmas you just assume that you are practicing your believes.

MULLAH? hahahaha!

we dont have those.. like Hamad says.. they are in Iran

We have Mutawas (the religious police and those men who think they are religious police, the mutawa wannabes)

they probably wont even know what you are talking about if you wish them a "merry christmas".. some of them are so prejudiced towards anything western, they refuse to even learn english.. looooooool!

what's funny is that in stores that cator to westerners here, you find xmas decorations, but they are labeled "holiday"

like "holiday trees", "holiday greeting cards", "holiday candy", "holiday twinkle lights" etc etc.. or also they are labeled "seasonal" stuff..
